Forage
Fellowship

Through the Paul Forage Fellows Program, we extend our commitment to Mentorship in Community, creating space for alumni to continue learning, contributing, and leading alongside trusted mentors and peers.

The Paul Forage Fellow

Dr. Paul Forage was the quintessential educator, cultivating a cadre of former students who continued to work with him long after they had participated in a program.  He sought the continued involvement of graduates in the work of humanitarian education.  By establishing the Paul Forage Fellows Program, the Forage Center is continuing this effort.

This fellowship program, which provides a unique opportunity for emerging leaders in peacebuilding and humanitarian work, is made possible by a generous donation from Karl Forage, the father of our founder Paul Forage and Sarah Forage-Lough, a member of our board. We are deeply grateful for his support in honoring Paul’s legacy and commitment to humanitarian education.

The Paul Forage Fellows Program is a 9-month remote fellowship opportunity for those
graduating and completing a Forage Center program. Fellows work closely with mentors and the Forage Center team on key initiatives that align with their skills and interests. Each spring a new class of one to four will be selected to serve from September 23 through June 30.

Mentorship in Community

By embedding mentorship into the core of our programming, we ensure that no one enters the field without a support system. The Forage Fellowship creates a learning environment where participants grow through connection, observation, feedback, and dialogue.

The Forage Fellowship is our commitment to mentorship. It is a transformational relationship rooted in care, mutual growth, and shared purpose.

Mentors help participants identify personal strengths and career paths, build networks and translate experiences into long-term growth.

We recognize that the next generation of humanitarian professionals is stepping into an unpredictable and often overwhelming global landscape. With mentorship, we offer the confidence, clarity, and companionship needed to navigate uncertainty.

Past Fellows

The Forage Center is proud to offer our past Paul Forage Fellows the opportunity to continue their work by transitioning into Program Specialist roles. As Dr. Paul Forage believed in fostering lasting relationships with his students, we are dedicated to providing former fellows with ongoing opportunities to contribute to humanitarian education. By moving into a Program Specialist position, past fellows can further develop their skills and continue making meaningful impacts within our programs and events, ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of our mission.
