Meet our 2024-2025 Fellows

The Forage Center values and encourages the continuing involvement of its student participants after they have attended an exercise or event. Dr. Paul Forage was the quintessential educator, cultivating a cadre of former students who continued to work with him long after they had participated in a program. He sought the continued involvement of graduates in the work of humanitarian education. By establishing the Paul Forage Fellows Program, the Forage Center is continuing this effort.

The Paul Forage Fellows Program is a 9-month fellowship opportunity for those
graduating and completing a Forage Center program. Each spring a new class of one to four will be selected to serve from September 23 through June 30.

Emily Hall

Paul Forage Fellow '24

Emily Hall holds a Master of Arts in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University’s School of International Service with thematic concentrations in International Negotiation and U.S. Foreign Policy. Her academic research has extensively covered authoritarian regimes, with a particular focus on non-proliferation, gender, peace accords, and security strategies. Beyond her academic achievements, Emily has a wealth of experience with international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and U.S.-based entities dedicated to youth, education, and peacebuilding. Her professional expertise spans diplomacy, program management, scholarly writing, and grant management across both public and private sectors. Emily’s diverse experiences underscore her dedication to intergovernmental affairs, international development, and the enhancement of U.S. foreign policy. Prior to her graduate studies, she completed a Bachelor’s degree with double majors in East Asia and the Pacific and Political Science, and a minor in International Studies, at Central Washington University.

Nikki Stinson

Paul Forage Fellow '24

Nichole Y. Stinson is an English professor passionate about student-centered pedagogy that prepares scholars to think critically, academically research complex issues, and be the change they want to see in the world. She studied history at San Bernardino Valley College (San Bernardino, CA), emphasizing human atrocities, genocide, African American history, and other ethnic groups in the United States. She then completed a Bachelor's degree in English from California Baptist University (Riverside, CA) and a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA). Nichole is currently studying Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Stockton University (Galloway, NJ), developing an ESL creative writing course as her capstone project. She is designing this curriculum for children of multiple ages living through atrocities or armed conflict to help them process trauma by writing their stories, thinly veiled through a fictitious lens. The inspiration behind this course design was from watching children afflicted in Gaza and the other Occupied Palestinian Territories, Congo, and Sudan. In her free time, Nichole enjoys reading, spending time with her family, working on her fiction writing, and community activism. She is also an alumnus of the Forage Center's 2024 field simulation and would like to work in peacebuilding and genocide prevention in the future.

Joshua Price

Paul Forage Fellow '23

Josh Price is pursuing an M.S. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at the renowned George Mason University Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution. Throughout his academic journey, Josh has delved into the complexities of humanitarian and peacebuilding efforts, notably exploring structural violence in higher education and the intricacies of community restorative justice. His affinity for conflict resolution was ignited during his undergraduate years, where he earned a B.A. in Communications from GMU, complemented by a minor in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. This foundational knowledge opened myriad doors, catalyzing his current contributions in higher education. In 2022, Josh's involvement with the Forage Center flourished when he participated in an invigorating humanitarian simulation. Driven by a profound commitment to alleviate societal, economic, and natural conflicts at all scales, Josh aspires to collaborate with communities both domestically and globally, seeking paths towards peace and understanding. Underpinning his passion is a deep-rooted Christ-centered faith, guiding him to serve in areas where humanitarian relief intertwines with spiritual ministry. Concurrently, he contributes as a Recruitment Outreach Specialist for GMU’s College of Education and Human Development.

Naomi Davis

Paul Forage Fellow '23

Naomi Davis is a peace practitioner that uses an intersectional lens and relational approach in all of her work. Naomi has a Bachelor's of Peacebuilding and Development from Eastern Mennonite University where she minored in Religious and Intercultural Studies. Naomi concentrated in Inclusive Conflict Engagement while earning her Master's of Peace and Conflict Resolution from George Mason University. She has professional experience working in rural to city community organizing, relational fundraising, restorative justice in schools and communities, welcoming refugees and immigrants, global peace research, and community conflict analysis. Naomi is interested in engaging with transformative justice from local to global levels. Naomi feels strongly about the dignity of all humans and is committed to pathways for healing for everyone even those who are not "innocent." Naomi is an alumnus of the Forage Center's 2023 simulation and is passionate about making quality experiential learning an essential piece of education.

Chenqi Shi

Paul Forage Fellow '23

Chenqi Shi is a graduate from George Mason University's Carter School with a Master's in Conflict Analysis. Chenqi's research gravitates towards understanding the interdependence and inclinations of varying social strata and communities in today's complex societal fabric. Chenqi excels in dissecting conflicts through an eclectic blend of structured narrative techniques and offers keen insights into the global application of transitional justice. During Chenqi's tenure at GMU, a profound exploration into the intersections of national geopolitics, diplomacy, and defense policies with conflicts took shape. Chenqi astutely assessed the ripple effects of strategic decisions, tracing shifts from national to grassroots levels and their consequent regional developments. Notably, Chenqi's work delineates the intricate political and cultural tapestries of East Asia, identifying the cultural logic propelling these dynamics. Chenqi delivers innovative solutions tailored for these nations, navigating the precarious path from traditional governmental and judicial frameworks towards a more globalized paradigm.

Katreena Blazewicz

Paul Forage Fellow '23

Katreena Blazewicz, a 2022 Forage Center alum, is a dual degree Master’s student at George Mason University (GMU) in Conflict Analysis and Resolution and Social Work. Katreena holds bachelor’s degrees from Northern Arizona University in Criminal Justice and Criminology, and Psychological Sciences. Katreena’s interest in peacebuilding, human rights, and empowerment was sparked during her work at a domestic violence and human trafficking shelter, which led her to become involved in a local anti-human trafficking coalition and work as a behavioral health technician in a mobile crisis unit. At GMU, she has undertaken a social service internship at the Tahirih Justice Center, a clinical trauma fellowship, and an internship at Arlington’s Department of Human Service Partner SHIFT program. Observing and participating in peacebuilding endeavors in Israel/Palestine and Jordan has further solidified her appreciation for the interplay between her dual fields. Katreena believes in the synergy of social work and conflict resolution for a brighter, more equitable future.
